We are now in our 9th year – and to celebrate we have a brand new website designed to make your life easier. You are now able to view and book on any device from any location.

We are busier than ever which is great news and with so many regular guests returning each year we must be getting something right !!!! In fact we have just one weekend left between now and October for large groups wanting to book all three barns.

Doesn’t time fly! We have been taking guests for nearly 11 months in the Stables and 9 months in the Granary and The Cart Shed and what a busy time we have had! Weddings, birthday celebrations, anniversary celebrations, family gatherings and hen parties, the barns have been full most weekends. Highlights for the children have been feeding and collecting the eggs in the morning, and enjoying them for breakfast. Now we are busy harvesting so we need the sun to shine for the next month both for our guests and the farming. Please visit us on Facebook – Pitlands Barns Up Marden and find out our latest news.

Pitlands Barns is now fully open and we have had our first visitors! Our guests enjoyed their stay in the Granary and we have more arriving today.  We were thrilled to be featured in The Times as one of ‘20 Fabulous Festive Boltholes’. It all looks fantastic, inside and out and everyone has worked very hard to finish everything by the deadline. We celebrated with drinks in the Granary last week to say thank you to everyone for all their hard work – we managed to complete it exactly a year after starting!

Fantastic news today – We had our assessment from Visit England and Pitlands Barns was graded as 5* self-catering accommodation. We also gained the Welcome Cyclists and Welcome Walkers grading and  M1 in the National accessibility scheme. Celebrations tonight!

We are pleased to announce that self catering accommodation will soon be available at The Stables, Pitlands Barns. The interior is finished  and once the paths and patio are laid and car parking area concreted we will be open for business!  New photos on www.pitlandsbarns.co.uk.

The Cart Shed at Pitlands Barns is nearly complete, just waiting for the finishing touches to the bathrooms and the arrival of the furniture and curtains.

The Granary at Pitlands Barns is still waiting for stairs, but all the oak floors are laid upstairs and the kitchen in the process of being fitted. Bathrooms all ready to be installed next week. The barns look splendid now the scaffolding is down.

We are still hoping to be fully opened by the end of October, 2 months ahead of schedule. On-line booking is now available at www.pitlandsbarns.co.uk.

The solar panels are now on the roof on the south side. The walls in the Stables have been plastered and have had the first coat of paint– it is almost looking habitable. We just need some stairs!

We are well ahead of schedule and hope to be open by December.

The topping out ceremony on the roof – 21st April – the last ridge tile was laid by Andrew.

Under floor central heating has been installed in the Stables and the Cart Shed. The oak windows are all fitted now making the barns watertight!

The roofers have been working hard for more than a month, insulating and tiling the roof – 10,000 slates!

Work goes on making openings for the windows and doors on the south side of the barns.  Inside the barns, the internal walls are taking shape.

The enormous rainwater tank has been lowered into the 6 metre deep hole and pipes laid to collect all the rainwater from the roof. Sewage pipes have also been connected to the sewage treatment plant. The roof has been removed and all the rafters checked and damaged ones replaced.
